I got a wild hair in my butt this evening and made a doll....Here is Jaime Sue, in progression as I got done with each element of her clothes. A lot of parts of her clothes I had to hand stitch because they were much too much tiny for the machine. I made her body and stitched her face, too, but didn't think to take pictures until too late...grrr. I made her for Zoe:
Her little pantaloons
Her face
Her petticoat
Her heart that you can see through her skin
Her name and label
Her dress
Her apron/complete outfit

That's so cool! As I got older, the items I most treasured from my childhood are the ones that family members made for me, rather than the store bought gifts. I'm sure Zoe will love it too and it's nice that you dated it!

I am working on a witch right now and she is turning out sooooo cute. I will have her done this evening. I have had to take a lot of breaks to get other things done-but Jaime only took about 5 hours to make and I think that the Witch, "Witch Matilda" I am calling her, is taking about the same amount of time....a little longer because I am making a hat and a broom too.....

Can't wait to see witch Matilda, how nice to be able to make these things, with two little ones about you are doing a great job!! Maybe sometime I can get you to make me a little doll, we will have to work that out. When does Grace get her Doll?

Grace's doll is next. she is being weird and choosey about her fabric, so I went ahead with Matilda first. I am done with her panties, her petticoat and her hat. i am now working on her dress then her apron (of course.) I have yet to make her broom as well. I have yet to decide if I will make a cape too...that will come as an after everything else is done type of thing....just a just to see how it looks type thing....
So far she is perfect though, from her hair to her lips and her socks....everything. She is just precious.

I got held up on Matilda as we had ocmpany, but provided I catch up on the few things that slacked while he was ehre, I should get her finished today....
