Tonight I am hostessing my daughter's first slumber party here at home. She just graduated fourth grade. So cute. We had pizza and sundaes and they played hot potato with balloons. So cute. I remember going to slumber parties at that age. Such good girls, this group. Right now they are watching a movie and all have their sleeping bags ready. I am a happy Momma.

I remember slumber parties..the giggles..the tire feeling the next day because nobody wanted to go to sleep..what fun! I know Audrey is having a ball. Does it get better than that? I don't think so. You'll have so much to talk to her about tomorrow when everyone goes home.
I remember playing with an owigie(bad spelling) board at a slumber party and feeling really creeped out by this "Magic thing." Enjoy. Joey

Oh my goodness. We are having one tonight also, but it's my 12 year-old turning 13 today. She's inviting girls over night (and one boy for part of the night), with cake, ice cream, games, movies and lots of giggling.

I am giving each girl a small bag of goodies - gum, nail polish, small journal and fun pen. It's been a tradition for me to do this. One year, for my oldest daughter, I included fun leopard slippers that I found at a good price. The kids just feel special.

We are heading out to the library to pick up some fun movies for them.

How fun, Nicole!!! Lucky you! I used to love slumber parties when I was little... There's just nothing gigglier and girlier! I can't wait to hear how it went! Hope they had a great time - and that Mom got a little bit of sleep in there, too! :) Hugs - Nini

How fun! I remember a few slumber parties growing up. So much fun! Our boys have had a couple, but boy slumber parties are so different from the girl ones. My hubby keeps track of the boys and I get to read upstairs.

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

That's precisely what I was thinking, Wendy! When my son has his buddies over, it's all video game competition, horseplay, wrestling in the pool, laughing, mass quantities of food inhalation, the smell of feet, and loud cheers and jeers. It's like hosting a football game in your living room, laced with WWF, deck hockey, with just the right touch of Animal House. When it's over, it's as if a cyclone just blew through here! LOL! Nothing pretty and pink and giggly - just "brawny stinky boy" stuff. LOL! But they have fun, and that's what being a boy is all about, I suppose. At least they say thank you, and I get lots of admiration and a few hugs when I pull the pizza out of the oven! LOL! I love every minute of it - it truly is a lot fun. But, oh - what fun it would be to hostess a slumber party for girls! A Mom can dream...

It was great! They are all so sweet! They ate pizza, played together, had ice cream sundaes, and watched a movie. There were four girls including my daughter, and they are the sweetest bunch! We had a thunderstorm so I heard screams and giggles! Then they played an American Girl Doll game, and all slept in their sleeping bags. They didn't stay up that late, either, much to my surprise. However, they (and the dog) are all still tired today. This morning, I made homemade pancakes and then they went outside and chased butterflies and studied caterpillars, and got to take a dip in the hot tub. The moms all came after lunch, and I know they had a blast because there were some tears when it was time to go. I am so glad my dd had such a great time. She is just growing up so fast.
