Ha ha ha! I got the idea from CJ.

I'm going to look for flower bed sheets for it in the future. I don't have a lot of extras, but the tablecloths worked great.

Kristina- This is a clever idea for a wall tent! Your idea for sheets might be just the perfect ticket for covering the space too. With sheets you could leave the up even if it rains because they will dry quickly and you won't have to pull it all down in a flash! I bet the family was enjoying all of the fun too!

Yeah, "katmom" . . . where ya' been . . . Kristi DID steal the canopy idea from me. We used a white canopy that is actually E-Z Up brand.
Anyway, it works great. It's the same canopy we use at Farmers Market.

Ha ha ha ha!

Nini gave me the idea for bed sheets. I used all my tablecloths and a rug we use in the "gym" in the garage. The girls want to use the "sheet" idea so we can leave it out in the rain. (I shared your ideas with them)

They want to have it up so they can sit in it when it does rain. Funny how Mom's Oasis is turning out to be the Kid's Oasis too.

Just giving you a hard time, "katmom" . . .I don't expect everyone to notice everything.

We used pretty bedsheets on our canopy as well, light colored ones so that there would be a light and airy feel to it. Some of them have lacy and/or ruffly edges and some have just a nice "easy" print on them. But we also used long curtain panels that has ruffled edges, if they were lacy and light colored. I have scored a LOT of light colored curtains with lace, most of then ecru colores in long panels, cafe style and valances and we used them all over and inside of our tent and inside the canopy in front of the sheets. Because we have one big folding table and one smaller one, along with the picnic table usually provided ti the campsite, I like to layer my tableclothes on them. Because we were preparing food and cooking on the picnic table I had saved extra "top" layer tablecloths to change . . since we spilled tea and coffee, etc. Over our "pantry" table we hung a row of waist aprons, most of them vintage . . in front of the bedsheet "walls".
So, I'm always on the hunt for curtains, sheets and area rugs that I think will be suitable for our "glamp-site" as we doll up the canopy and the tent.
It takes considerable effort . . . but it is SUCH FUN!!!!
Robin and I will be going again the first week of July, here in Colorado, up river into the mountains not far from where I live! YESSSS!!!

Just have fun!

Kristina-
What a fabulous idea...oh wait thats right you "stole" it from CJ!
Ha ha ha.
In any event your "family" oasis looks just lovely! I amsure youw ill continue to improve on the idea and "glamp" it all up farmgirl style!
That's what I LOVE about this site- so many like minded sisters all sharing ideas with one another. We Farmgirls have to stick together after all .
I set up my backyard "glamping" escape too and will be posting pictures in the next few days. So far the boys are leaving it alone, and my DD and I have already slept outside one night this past Memorial Day Weekend.....AHHHH- HEAVEN!
Have fun with it Kristina!
Hugs,

I just got finished looking and reading about your ( and your daughter's) Glamping trip!!! What a blast! My daughter and I have gone on camping trips before but not glamped up!!! I did have a wonderful old-fashioned picnic last month...I served food on old china there was lots of tablecloths and vintage linen napkins...one of my guests ask me why I did all of this...I told her " I did it for you and me"...maybe I'll take my daughter Glamping this summer!

Awesome pictures, my friend, awesome journal!

Mine is definitely not as fancy, but simple and peaceful. It was 96° out, so we need some air in there too.

BTW, this was set up in my yard (6 acres), where we can come and go as we please, cook over the fire pit, etc. I spent some time journaling in it before we had to take it down.

It will go back up, just not sure yet. We use the same easy-up for the Farmer's Market too.

My girls joined me with books, journals, and handicrafts. I'm knitting myself a shawl for the coming next fall time.

Even the barn cats and our dogs joined in with us. They loved the rug we put in there.

It's raining here today, but the nights are perfect for camping.

We don't spend a lot of money to do this either. That's the beauty of glamping. You can make it your own style.

Margo,
Our canopy is 10 x 10, it is EZ-UP brand, "Enterprise" model.

10 x 10 is a very common size, however there are other sizes.

Ours is a 10 x 10 as well. There are many brands available. We use ours for Farmer's Market, and take it camping too.

thanx gals.....

I am envious of the ability to set it up and leave it for journaling or a nap, etc...i'm inside city limits and property is not expansive!

y'all have such wonderful, thrifty, fun ideas!

We also use ours for Farmers Market and craft fairs. We don't put ours up to leave it, the sun is too intense at this high altitude and it just would cook it, no matter the quality of the top. EZ-UP canopies are excellent quality and I'm glad we purchased this one. We just replaced the top on our frame . . . but the first top lasted 11 years! But it was never up for long periods of time because of the sun . . wind is a factor as well.

Happy hunting!

We can't leave ours up too long either. Maybe a week at the most. The wind is big factor, and we do have weights for the legs, as well as stakes.
