Hi! I'm Kristin from eastern Connecticut. I'm married, 48, and have a 10 year old son. We've been here for over 20 years now and have gone from a small kitchen garden to adding chickens, then ducks, the dairy goats, enlarging the garden and this year we've added a couple of apple trees, blueberries, red currants, elderberries and gooseberries. We've cleared some overhanging tree limbs and trees trying to gain some sunshine and now I'd like to find room for a strawberry patch.
My son has a number of food allergies and I eat a mostly grain free, low carb, gluten free diet. We strive to eat as much unprocessed, organic food as we can.
I work full time in our local school system as a speech therapy assistant. In my spare time I am den leader for my son's Webelos den, I cook A LOT, knit, hike, letterbox, geocache, bike, read, garden..... Let's just say I'm looking forward to my summer off so I can also breathe and sleep,

Thanks Marly! I love my summers off, except for the no income part. I'd rather be broke and at home with my son being a home body farmgirl at our little backyard homestead than find a summer job and be just as behind as I was in June come the end of August!

Thanks Marianne! I can't wait for this week to be done. I hardly get to spend any time with kids themselves, it's a lot of paperwork and cleaning. I'm itching to get out to pick strawberries, can stuff, work in my garden, play with my goats, ride my bike... I've got two new apron patterns to sew. Sooo much to do and absolutely NO time to do it lately!
