I have an old rusty bed spring that I either need to haul to the dump or do something with. Do any of you ladies have any creative ideas on what to do with it.

Hi Laura~ I have used old bed springs for napkin holders. I just make a cone out of the napkin and put the silverwear in the middle of it.

You could make a cool chandelier out of the springs. Put a plastic pot inside the spring as a type of holder. Make a wind sock. Take a spring and all around the bottom you can tie ribbons, scrap strips of fabric or bias tape around the bottom of one spring. Then take some fabric or burlap or flour sack towel and attach it to make a tube. You can sew it or fasten it with safety pins. Then just put it on and where ever you want it and voila a garden wind sock and when the wind blows the ribbon or fabric strips wave in the wind!

I've seen them used as a trellis for climbing plants like peas or beans, etc. Also, used as a 'flower bed" placed on the ground and wild flowers growing in them like a bed! So cute! Hugs, Lu

If you go to pinterest and do a search on "bed spring" there are some awesome ideas, ex. candle holders, flowers and wreaths

A rind is a terrible thing to waste. Compost.

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”

Once a long time ago I used some to bar b que a rack of moose ribs. The only thing big enough to hold a full rack.
