My friend and I have been doing this for about a year--it's very addicting. I just returned from our cabin and stopped at a thrift store and found another one of those small cases which are harder to find for $3--there just the right size for projects you might want to bring along.
Hey Sharon, yep, cutesiefying up old luggage can be addicting... Thank goodness for ModPodge...I have been decopaging 'train cases' with both fabric & bling as well as using graphics...just so much fun!

I have a set of those and hope to do that before summer is over. They are so cute.
I took the small (I think they are called train cases) one and painted it, lined the inside and made a sewing kit. I love it. I also have 2 new ones that I am doing and your idea is great. I am going to try it.
