We receive mailings from the University of Vermont Center for Sustainable Agriculture. In the most recent flyer there is a note about Carol Delaney's book called " Aguide to Starting a Comercial Dairy". It is a clear, close look at the needs of dairy goats and how goat farms connect to regional milk, meatand livestock markets, along with an emphasison how to set u records that measure success in terms of time and money. While the guide was written with the Vermont farmer in mind, and includes contributions from Vermont farmers, the content will be useful for any farmer in the Northeast. The guide can be downloaded for free at www.uvm.edu/sustainableagriculture, or else ordered for $25 (including shipping) by sending an email with our name and daytime phone number to sustainableagriculture@uvm.edu.
