I have always said that it is easy to maintain faith when things are going well. The real faith work begins when things are not going well.
As some of you know from following my "Westward Ho" postings on "Across the fence", my DH and I left Florida the beginning of April to travel by car to Portland , OR where I had a travel RN position waiting for me to start 4/24. Rod and I have had an amazing time crossing part of our wonderful country these last few weeks. We are now in Sacramento, CA. with a dear friend. Yesterday I found out that the hospital cancelled all of the travel positions they had posted, so we have come 3600 miles and now I have no job. I have no idea what we do next. I believe that we are here for a reason but I do not know what it is. I know that GOD is in control and has a plan but I do not know what it is. I keep hearing "Be still and know that I am God", and I am trying but I am not good with the "Be still" part.
So dear sisters, I am asking for prayers for clarity of what God wants us to do next and prayers for patience for me. Thank you, Joey

Joey,
I am praying for you. I know that there is a reason that this has happened, and that God will provide perhaps something more meaningful or a place where you are needed more. I totally understand what you mean about the sit still part- thats a hard one for me too. Give it a little time and put all of your feelers out there. Something better will come.

I was always told that its easy to have faith when things are going well, but when things start to get hard...that's when people see where your faith really lies. But it is so hard, isn't it? I'm praying for you...these times are the hardest! Something WILL come along and the answers will be made clear. :) It's the being still and waiting that is sooo sooo hard. Hang in there! I'm praying for you!

Hi Joey,
My prayers are going up for you for clarity and you know maybe you are there in Sacramento for a reason, I know living in CA that they need nurses alot so maybe that is the place to look at.

Joey- did you ask the travel agency if there were other opportunities to work on the west coast? Maybe in another state ? Will the agency reimburse you for expenses of travel since they cancelled so that you can come back to Florida and not be broke from days of travel? It only seems fair that they cover mileage and hotel fees because you had no heads up the position would cancel. If not, you had a wonderful vacation visiting America and Florida will welcome you back to work here as we always needRNs too!! Good Luck!! Keep us posted on what happens.

Hi Joey,
Wow, what a shock! God must have something really big in store for you! I understand difficulty with the 'Be still' part, that is always the hardest. BUT He is faithful and His plans AND timing are much better than ours. I am praying for the Lord's direction and provision for you!
