I use saddle leather for hinges for many different things, boxes, books, baskets, etc.

Here's a page from a google search that has many, many different applications.

https://www.google.com/search?q=leather+hinges&hl=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=VCeQT7H7K6WqiQKC2ZzpAg&ved=0CHkQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=632

And here's a link to ehow on how to make them. It's really simplified, but you can expand it from here.

http://www.ehow.com/how_5627877_make-leather-hinges.html

If you use a router to cut away some of the wood, the leather hinge can set into the wood and look very smooth.

My favorite? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Quilting
Hand Quilting
Sewing
Doll Making
Notice all of them involve a sewing machine?
I also love to needle tat, crochet and paint. Oh there's just too many to name.

If I had no problem with time and doing those pesky chores and had plenty of money I'd be quilting most days, when I got a bit bored doing that I'd probably be knitting/crocheting or trying to paint (I'm not very good but I sure like the One Stroke method). After that would be making cards. And yes, gardening can be creative too so add that in the mix.

Good boy Hobbs! I love and miss you.
