Sants Fe is so beautiful. So many of the homes and businesses are built in Pueblo style-2ft thick brown stucco walls and flat roofs. You know southwertern style when you see it. We went to the square where the venders were selling and in a few little shops . The highlight for me was that we went to this amazing church on Easter Sunday. It is called the Loretto Chapel and maybe you have heard of it because I know there has been a book and a movie about this chapel. There is a BEAUTIFUL circular staircase the built without any support. Legond has it that the Sister of Loretto ran a school there and needed a way to get from the chapel to the choir loft without going outside. THis strange man showed up (1878) and ofered to build it using only his hammer, nails and wood. He did the most amazing job and before they could pay him, he just left. Speculation is that it was Jesus or Joseph.
The mountains of New Mexico have made a mountain lover out of this beach girl. I have never seen anything like them. So many colors and shapes, they just took my breath away.
Outside of Santa Fe we went to Ghost Ranch were Georgia O'keefe always stayed to paint. She returned there every summer but did not own the property. The people that owned it had it from 1934s willed all of it to the Presbyterian church when they died. There are many art students there now. It was so peaceful and stark and quiet. It felt wonderful to me to let my eyes see what she so loved every day.
We then drove all the way up to 4 corners but it closed 45 mins before we got there. What a wonderful day.

Well behaved women rarely make history.

DH and I want to retire in New Mexico. So glad you had the time to explore. Living in Ohio now I too miss mountains. Give me the Ocean or give me Mountains and I'm a happy camper.

Looking forward to your next update.
