Hey everyone! We have recently bought property in Colorado and I am looking forward to starting a small garden in the spring. Does anyone have experience with mountain gardening? Also, can anyone give me some ideas on what I can do during the fall to prepare for my spring garden? Thank you for any ideas!
Denver Botanic Gardens is an amazing resource for you and they are also very good at providing planting lists for xeriscape gardens, etc... which are common due to water availability in some parts of the country. Just type in Denver Botanic Gardens and there is alot to look at. If you have the chance go visit, it's beautiful!
'Punkin - what's your elevation? We're at around 5300' - I can tell you what we do if you're anywhere close. I can't wait to check out Denver Botanic Gardens - I'm going to look it up tonight. Also - I agree, High Country Gardens has some great plants. We've purchased quite a few from there - both plants and seeds - and haven't been disappointed.
