I know you are all busy making butterflies for The Butterfly Project, and I am so grateful that you are.
However, God has put a real burden on my heart about the folks in Harrisburg, IL, which was recently flattened by an F4 tornado. He also gave me an idea to do something, and if He leads you to it, He'll lead you through it.
Recently, one of the farmgirls posted about how her co-worker collected sock monkeys for the children who are now homeless because of the wildfires in Texas.
The Bonus Craftivism Challenge is making stuffed bunnies for the children in Harrisburg, and getting them there by Easter. You can do the glove bunny I already posted or bunny of your choice. I'll be working on a few other different bunnies myself that I'll post on my blog.
Here's the logistics of it all...
Please ship your bunny (or bunnies) by Priority Mail directly to:
First Church of God
1520 Mchaney Road
Harrisburg, IL 62946
Only new, handcrafted bunnies are accepted. It is very important that your bunn(y/ies) arrive in time to be distributed for Easter. Yeah, I know it's a tight deadline, but if anyone can do it, a farmgirl can!
Feel free to give your bun as much personality as your heart desires, just remember that buttons, etc. are a choking hazzard. Keep this in mind when labeling. Place your bunny in a plastic bag to keep it clean, and label it "Safe for 3 and under" or "Ages 4+" so the folks distributing the bunnies can distribute them age-appropriately.
We are hoping to collect 100 bunnies. My DD gave me three little ones that she has crocheted this morning, and I also have the glove bunny here. Four down, 96 to go.

Making a sock bunny today, and will have a tutorial up on the blog, hopefully early this evening. Hope you'll join me and make one or a dozen!
Also, the glove bunny is already up, if you'd like to use up some orphaned gloves, or do like we did and snag a bunch off the clearance rack at the dollar store.
If you make any please post here that you did - we'd love to see a running tally of how many we're getting!

Bunny tutorial is up - you should see him, his name is Righteous!
Also, any and all hoppers need to be packaged up and mailed by Priority Mail no later than Monday to try our best to be sure they arrive to the church by next Friday to be distributed for Easter.
We've got 7 accounted for, we **ONLY** need 93 more. If you could find time over the weekend to make a sock bunny, and ship it out, I know the children in Harrisburg will greatly appreciate it!

REMINDER: TOMORROW is the last day to ship your bunny(ies) to Harrisburg in order for them to arrive in time to be distributed for Easter.

Packed up 5 bunnies in a box yesterday and shipped them out to Harrisburg. Please pray that they multiply like real bunnies - we were hoping to get 100 donated.

Just talked to the pastor of the First Church of God down in Harrisburg. Mine was the only package to arrive. Meaning out of 100 rabbits needed, they only received 5.
I can't believe that after putting this up all over here on the farm, and on my blog, and on every blog hop I could put Righteous on, that mine was the only package. Wow. Feeling very deflated. Wondering how/when/if I can squeeze in a few more somehow. There is no way I can do all 100 by myself.
If you can find time this week, please make one and send it. They no longer need to go Priority Mail, if that is a concern.
