I've been not here for quite awhile. I need advice. I started a blog a couple of years ago, and my theme would be the small urban farm that I hoped to create. That's not happening. I thought of going back to my blog and writing about life and what Im going through right now, and my plans. Can I just change my blog topic? And if so, I'm not sure if I should publish what I'm giong through right now. I'm struggling again with depression, and a sense of not knowing who I am. I know where I want to go, and roughly how to get there, but I am not at all confident I can do it, especially on my own.
Any feedback, thoughts, advice? Prayers also welcome. |

Nan - I'll be praying for you...I don't know anything about blog etiquette, but I have heard that when people write through their depression etc. they often find relief - so I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for sharing!

Nan, I encourage you to post this in the "Hogs & Quiches & Prayer Round Up" section of the forum. The ladies that frequent there have wonderful wisdom and advice. Plus, you will be covered in prayer and encouraging words.
Don't struggle with depression alone. You can drop to some pretty dark places mentally and emotionally. You need some unconditional farmgirl lovin'!

Nan~sometimes when things seem utterly upside down is when God can do the biggest things. I would encourage you to seek him and rest in his wisdom. I would totally agree about writing things out during this time for you, but I'm not sure if you want to publish it for the world to see. That is something you need to really pray about. I will lift you up in prayer and know that God can do a good work in you!

Dear Farmgirl Sisters,
I would like to thank you for the honor of being chosen as Farmgirl of the Month for December 2014. It was a wonderful month thanks to you sisters and all your acts of kindness through cute photos, gifts, and kind words.
I would like to go ahead and name the first farmgirl of the month for the new year. But before I say who it is, I would like to share a little bit about this dear sister.
This sister is someone who came into my life when I just started the journey or perhaps joining the family of the Farmgirl Sisterhood 5 years ago. She was an enthusiastic beacon of farmgirl wisdom in so many areas, it made my mind spin. She became not only my friend, and sister, but she is now my children's "adopted" grandma! We love her like family and cherish her with all our hearts.
This sister is fearless in her travels as a farmgirl, making such shocking decisions as sleeping in her car just so she could join the fun on a camping trip when she didn't have a tent, driving through snowy weather to be with us farmgirls, and never giving up when she kept getting lost on the way to my house in the country.
This sister gardens in her yard in the city, made a red barn on the wall of her garage because she wanted a barn, hosts her husband's koi fish and bonsai trees in her house all winter so they wont die, is president of the Minnesota Quilters http://www.mnquilt.org/, cookbook collector and endless recipe resource from her years as a cookbook reviewer, has her own quilts she designed for the state of Minnesota archived in the Minnesota Historical Society, a regular "Moo-Booth" educator at the Minnesota State Fair, and so much more!
This sister loves to teach us "young girls" all about sewing and quilting, canning, cooking, gardening, and more. She enjoys opening up her home for farmgirl meetings, always having something new to show and tell, keeps us giggling with her jokes, and is always wearing her favorite "cow apron."
She has touched all of our lives in so many ways it's hard to know where to start. But she is a true farmgirl and I love her with all my heart.
So without further ado, my friend, my sister...
BONNIE ELLIS!

April, I've been so busy with the holidays that this honor struck me totally by surprise. I didn't find out until today. Thank you April, I love you with all my heart too. Thank you all of you. Mary Jane and her staff are awesome and I love her magazines, chat room and all. I'm making the moo cow fabric milk can quilt and I can't wait to get it finished. I will send in a picture when I finish. This year will be much better than last because we all start fresh. Happy January! Bonnie

Congratulations, Bonnie! You are a shining light and great role model for caring women. I'm glad I have met you, if only by phone and MJF, so far!
