EXCITING NEWS! I am nominating Sherrie Bryant for Farmgirl of the Month of April! Sherrie has been in the Mary Jane Farmgirl Sisterhood, Brentwood Chapter, for a year. Her favorite thing in Farmgirls is hanging out with the sisters and learning new things.
Recently, she has been working on Origami, Pets, Recycling, and Cleaning Up badges. I am looking forward to getting to know you better, Sherrie! |

Candy, is Sherrie on the forum? Someone help me out please. Are those chosen supposed to be on the forum? We like to acknowledge and honor by sending a note or a little gift. If they are not here how do we get in contact for their address? This thread is helpful in getting to know them. Just asking for help to understand how this works.

I would really like to know why Sherrie has not responded to this thread herself, since she was chosen as FGOTM for April on March 30th. This is the first time that I know of where a FGOTM has not acknowledged our congratulation wishes or shown her appreciation for being chosen.

I agree, Judith. I also looked Sherrie up in the members directory, when she was first chosen and a few times since, by first and last name and could not find her shown as a member. Has she become a member yet?
I believe the FGOTM was started to recognize active farmgirls who displayed the characteristics we all admired and to let them know we appreciated them and their values, contributions and talents. There are over 8,500 farmgirls, and some have been members for many years. Many of us have formed lasting friendships with farmgirls over the years because of like interests; we learned of these interests through responses to numerous chatroom topics and participation in the many different swaps, among other things.
The last 6 FGOTM choices have all been from the same small Chapter and most have not been active in the chatroom topics. They do not know any of the active farmgirls so they can only choose the next FGOTM from their own group. This is not fair to all the other active farmgirls.

My feelings exactly. Farmgirl of the Month and Farmgirl of the Year should be people we know through the Forum. It is an honor to be chosen by other Farmgirls who have gotten to know you. Chatting in the various chatrooms and perhaps engaging in some swaps are the ways we get to know people. We also like pictures of your projects be they animal, vegetable, or mineral.
Now that I have your attention, please join Quiltee's mini-apron swap.
