On Saturday the 2nd of September we went ot a fiber arts fair. My hubby was ever so kind and took me. I think he would have rather been any where but there. But he was kind and let me have my fun while he took a nap under a tree. The girls got to ride on lamas ,practice drop spindel, practice hand loom weaving, and water/soap felting. I think they had alot of fun. If any one has a drop spindel they don't want any more Be happy to trade all the patterns I have in both barter topics for it. My kids are very interested in it would love one that has been another farmgirls.
here are some lama pics of the girls
look at this face how funny right after she got on
then 5 minutes later nearing the end of the ride
have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe my web store www.sunshines.etsy.com my blog http://sunshinescreations.blogspot.com/ my google page http://sunshine.harbaugh.googlepages.com/home |

Sunshine- What cuties your girls are! How fun it must be to share something you love with them. You are a lucky girl to get the DH to go along, mine usually is better left at home! (He's a good guy, but with very limited time off so I don't ask him to give it up very often). I have never spun but have always been interested since I was small and got to try on a school trip to the Living History Museum.Do you use your own sheep for the wool? I did get to felt a hat and purse last year and that was a blast!

Cute cute cute! And the llamas are cute, too. What a fun day for you all (even husband -- he got to nap, which is also fun in my book). |

Your girls are so cute!!! It sounds like the fiber arts fair was a good time for all - was it in Utah somewhere? I'll bet there were some really beautiful things there - did you exhibit any of your work?

How fun! That's one thing I miss about not living nearer to an urban area - we really don't get the fairs/festivals/culture that a city offers. There are other advantages to living in a small town, of course, but those are some of the things I miss!

That looks like so much fun! Your girls are absolutely adorable, Sunshine! My hubby took me to a similar festival - Shepherd's Harvest - here in Minnesota back in the springtime for Mother's Day. He padded around the festival with me - holding the baby so I could touch, touch, touch the yummy yarns. It's a good thing we both have understanding husbands!

Beautiful pictures! I didn't know you could ride llamas!
My husband has made my wooden drop spindles for me and is supposed to be making up about 10 before Thursday when we have our fiber guild.
http://www.joyofhandspinning.com/ this website even has directions on how to make your own drop spindle. The ones my husband makes aren't like this one. His can be used as either a bottom or a top whorl.

Sunshine..I found an extra high whorl spindle I don't need. It is all wood, darker wood on the whorl than the shaft. That is the only extra I have. I will try to remember to take a picture today later..busy canning peaches.
