Weird question, but when did this kind of fruit processor start being made/used? I've spent way too much time searching online for this answer, and 2 reference librarians couldn't even figure it out. But I did run across references to it here, so maybe somebody happens to know.
Actually, I want to know if a strainer like this was being used in the early 1940s. Anybody remember?
I think it was...mine came from my grandmas stuff and most all her canning equipment was at least that old. They are sure wonderful for doing apples and tomatoes!!! I love mine.
My grandma used this type of strainer, and I would place hers circa early 1940's. It was old when I was a little girl in the early 50's.
I went to Ebay and they have 5-7 vintage victorio's on auction and some show the original boxes. Look at the design on the boxes and it gives you a clue as to their vintage - definitely 1940 if not earlier. jpbluesky
