Today, I had a phone interview for a Dean's position at a school in NYC. Please pray for God's will to be done. I turned down one in the city last week because of some differences we had about reciprocity for my teaching licenses. I am concentrating on the city and pray that my experience and age won't hamper things. In this day and time, sometimes it is a curse to have experience and wisdom!!! Go figure!!
Thanks for your prayers.

It is so hard to live in a time when it seems that experience and wisdom are looked down upon! GRRR! I will be praying for you! Everyone should be so lucky to have someone with your experience and wisdom! :)

Portia,

I am a teacher, too. I teach middle school, currently. However, I have my Master's degree in Educational Leadership and am in search of a building level administration position for next school year. We'll have to have a conversation some time about education and what we think needs to be done. :)

Prayers for you to be placed in the right place where you're able to do your heart's work.

Portia: My prayers will be with you. I have a feeling you'll get the perfect job. Good luck.

Thank you so much, everyone. I know God is sending me to NYC and in His time, I will get the job He wants me to have. It surely is nice to know you ladies are praying for me. Please pray for my husband one there, also, as he comes to NY on weekends from DC! This is getting old. I want him with us. But, thank God for his job. Jennifer, it is too bad that the government does not make us co-secretaries of education!!!

Right, on, Amy! I can hear it in their voices when they ask how many years you have in teaching, etc. A clever way to ask your age but not really ask it, either, because that is against the law. Oh, so little do they know.

Jennifer,(Bayou Girl) are you originally from Louisiana? I spent many years there and loved everything except the heat!

Portia,
I sent you an email. I'm an Arkansas girl, and the heat and mosquitoes are my only complaints, as well.

I definitely think the powers that be should give us a call. :)

Jennifer, you are right on that. But, unfortunately, the powers that be don't seem to want to listen! Isn't it strange that, most of the time, those in charge of educational issues, have never been a teacher, administrator, etc? Go figure.

Thanks again, everyone, for all your prayers.

Blessings,
Portia
