wondering if anyone does this craft? how expensive to get into it? I want to try this, but I love so many crafts already, just wondering if I should add another. Thanks for the help gals!!
I planned to take classes last year, but could not. The woman offered a kit for $10.00 to start learning. Her class itself was free. I hope they hold it again this year.
what my friend has shown me is that you use monks cloth and take thin strips of wool and hook them into the cloth- it is a very primative looking craft.
I'm with you Lori, I want to learn to do this craft but I've got so many other I just haven't found the time for it. I believe the type you are refering to is just called rug hooking as opposed to latch hooking which uses precut pieces of yarn. If I'm not mistaken I believe Aunt Jenny from this forum does this type of craft(rug hooking). If you do take it up, post pictures please.
How is it going for you Joan? My friend came over last Sunday afternoon and we had a fun time learning! I'm still trying to get my grove- but I love what I have gotten done- and my friend- bless her heart has the suppllies that she is loaning to me until I decide if I am in love with the craft....sssshhhhhhhh I think I love it!!
You will learn so much here- the sisters have so much knowledge to share...just ask and they will teach!!! It's great!! And we can learn rug hooking together.
