This is a thread about the small things that bring you joy. Simple things that don't need to be explained, and overmuch explaination with diminish them anyway.

I love the sound of happy duck quacks, and goose honks
I love the smell of horses and the taste of strong coffee.

Great post Jen!
You hit several of mine too!
* I love the sunrises and sunsets
* I love the feel of my dirt
* I love the smell of fresh dirt
* I love the sound of my horses and donkeys happily munching hay
* I love the smell and taste of fresh baked bread
* I love the smell taste of good strong coffee

I could list so many more, because I LOVE my farm life!

Margaret

I love the quiet of the morning
I love the snoring of my deep-sleeping Finn dog
I love the smell (and taste) of coffee
I love the smell of horses...and manure
I love it when my wee girl wakes up and yells from her room "good morning everbody!"
I love watching the birds visit the feeders, especially the giant woodpeckers!
I love simple pleasures--a homecooked meal, a clean house, time to knit, time to read
I love polartec sheets.

Watching a new mama cow give birth to her first little one
Watching the other cows help the new mama figure out what to do
The pride and love in her eyes when she realizes what she now has
All those little ones kicking up their heels full of joy for being alive
The love, appreciation and adoration in the eyes of a new calf who is now
being bottle-fed because she lost her mama
The love in my heart when I realize I have just gotten attached to that precious little orphan.

from the hearts of paradise...

Sunrises are the best, that huge smile of light coming over the hills..
my grandkids laughing
my dogs playing tag with each other
kids, lambs, calves and foals checking out their surroundings the first time
the first flowers of spring
the first harvested vegtables
and I could go on, but I won't...

I would add all that was said above, and...
the giggle of a good friend,
the roar of laughter from something so funny,
my cats running sideways,
and I, too, could go on and on......

I love....
homemade food
Mom's homemade "stuff" (I'd put Grandma's...but she's not here anymore, so I can't really say Grandma's stuff :p)
the weather this January is fabulous! (except for last week, but we'er not dwelling on it!)
listening to my nephew & niece's jibber-jabber (or talk, for the ones that can!) & laugh
getting lost in a book
watching movies
having a clean apartment
having meals ready (otherwise I wouldn't eat properly!)
the end of the day so I can finally go home!
ceramics (cleaning & painting)
my girls at Ebenezer's
beautiful sunsets/night skies while I'm walking home

I'm sure there is probably more....but I think that's enough for now!

I love: my little girls laughter, the sheer enjoyment she gets when she creates something or collects the eggs, and when my hubby kisses my forehead!

I love my little man's sweetness
I love the long shadows of the late afternoon that twist around the trees and ground
I love the smell, once again, of horses and leather (if it were possible to get stoned on those smells, those would be my drugs of choice. LOL)
I love the smell of the air after the rain falls and the sun breaks out.
I also love the smell of laundry fresh off the line.

Love this thread - does that count, too?

I love watching the birds at the birdfeeder.
I love finishing a book.
I love the sassy rooster who talks to me in the coop.

Ok here goes a few of my "loves":
Of course it goes without saying...
~ My amazing husband and two great kids
~ My great friends- always there for me
~ Nature and all of the sights and sounds that come with it such as the birdsongs, and just looking out the window and seeing gorgeous red cardinals, blue jays, yellow finches, black capped chickadees eating at the feeders
~ the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the sand while camping right on the beach
~ the peace and quiet and promise that each sunrise offers
~ relaxing with a nice hot cup of tea
~ A simple life, and having the sense enough to appreciate so many of lifes little blessings.
I could go on and on.
Great post Jen!
