I pulled out my yarn stash this morning to start making those granny squares, and noticed most of my little leffovers are 100% cotton yarn. Has anybody ever made a afghan with cotton squares? Have you mixed cotton and synthetic squares in one afghan? I imagine the cotton would shrink, and pull on the other squares... any input?

I have made afghan's in the Ripple Stitch pattern style, but never have mixed cotton and synthetic together. The afghan's that were 100% cotton did shrink a bit, but did mis-shape the afghan. Good luck crocheting. Marly

I wouldn't mix cotton and other, either. You can use your bits and bobs to make some crocheted dishcloth granny squares. You can also just do a basic square from single crochet, just changing colors when you run out. Since I knit most of my dishcloths, that's what I do when I have those little oddments. Hope this helps!
