Don't get me wrong. I am madly in love with my husband. I love every moment we spend together. Sometimes, I wish he could play hookie and stay home with me all day.
But, my sisters of the wives club sorority-- who among us does not every once in a while breath a great sigh of relief that the weekend is coming to an end, you won't have to answer to rhetorical questions like:
"where is my phone?" (plugged in the wall)
"where did you put my wallet?" (On your desk, next to your mousepad)
"Do I own any socks?" (I think so?)
"Can I have a glass of water?" (I dunno, can you? you did graduate high school 15 years ago.)
"Why is the baby so loud?" (Because Darling, she's only just mastered her first language-- screeching.)
"Why are you so loud?" (Because I now speak fluent toddler.)
"What do you think about me replacing the front passenger axle in the car myself?" (Durr.... I think the blue one.)
"What's for dinner?" (Food.)
"Can you make coffee? (at 8 pm??)
"What are you thinking for lunch?" (I'm thinking yakisoba noodles... in Hokkaido. I think that's far enough away?)
"What's the matter?" (I've got a headache... and I've had it for 4 months.)
"What's the dog doing?" (Being a dog? She wants you to put her out to potty.)
"Can you turn on the the TV?" (Nope. I have a better chance at successfully performing surgery blindfolded than navigating that high tech super TV you chose by my senses of touch and intuition alone.)
All joking aside, I love the bugger, and I love how much he depends on me for everything and wants me next to him every moment... of everything. Including the purgatory that was Transformers 3. <3
But that's another story.

So funny.Once my husband aask me where his glasses were. "I've looked this place over" he says. Not everywhere I told him.There on top of your head. He reached up and there they were.He just stood there and looked at me. Don't tell me I put them there.I said.
Then I went to the bedroom stuck my face in the pillow and laughed till I couldnt laugh no mmore.

Very funny and very true! I love having the two nights home with him that I do, but I count down to Thursday through Monday when he works each and every night, and a double on Monday! Me and the wee girl do JUST what we want and watch JUST what we want (not a WWII documentary in sight!)

Oh GODS yes, so true! Mine has been unable to hold steady work since his accident a couple of years ago...I love the man, but I also love when he goes to visit his mom!

Oh yeah - all of the above....I love my husband dearly and he makes me laugh every single day but boy howdy does he have a big personality - takes up a loooot of space:) And I'm a solitary girl - grew up an only child with quiet parents - can anyone say culture shock?

VERY funny post! I love my husband madly and he is my best friend in the world, but I once asked him, "How did you ever survive before you met me?" because he so often seems to have no idea how to do anything without me (including operating a vacuum - and is there anything more straightforward than that?!) But, he also likes to tell me (often) that I am the heart and soul of our family, and you can't beat praise like that.

oh yes just wait till he retires!!! my hubby can drive me crazy sometimes because we are together too much. I have a craft get together with my one friend once a week to make sure I get out of the house !!! hehehehehehe gotta love them anyway!!

I just love the honesty. I to adore my husband but especially since we have had our girls two days at home is a really long time for him. He loves the outdoors as I do but it calls to him almost. He can't function without time in it every week. Montana winters and little girls are hard to get together sometimes so I knowingly push him out to door. I know next week will be better if he is not with us a few hours or maybe even a whole day of our precious weekend. Thanks for the laughs. My favorite is how I am supposed to know where his missing pants always are. For the eight years of our marriage it has always been "in your clothes pile I would guess". Why he can't use his dresser or very ample closet space I will never know. At least at this house his pile is mostly hidden from my view because it used to drive me crazy.

ME TOO!!! I have a wonderful husband, just celebrated 43 yrs. of marriage. I won't get into all the things that make me nuts but I do say to him REGULARLY: "Honey, we've had this conversation". "If I die first, you're going to be in a world of hurt". "Don't make me repeat that AGAIN!"
He does most of the cooking, is an excellent cook and I'm grateful. Yesterday he puts pinto beans to soak, but decides after a couple hours they've soaked enough (whatever!). Just after lunch he puts them in the crockpot to cook. Around 4:30 he comes in the house (and of course you can smell them cooking) and he asks me "Are you cooking something?". I shake my head . . . (good grief!). .
and say "No, but you are". Mercy me!
But I love him!

I just saw this and have laughed so much! That's so like my husband. He asks questions that are so obvious. The funniest questions are at dinner. Like what is this? My hubby drives a truck and is only home a few days a month. It's been this way for about 19 years now. Just lately he's been gone so much though. And he wants to retire. What am I going to do then? I will absoltely go crazy, for real. I will have to go out and get a job. Or he will have to ride his motorcycle all over the country on really long trips. Without me. I love him so much. But I am worried about retirement. For me more than him. It'll be like starting all over again but we'll be OLD!
Laurie, I have always said we would not have made it to 33 years if he wasn't a truck driver. Absence does make the heart grow fonder.

I still work out of the house 2 days a week, my hubby is basically retired. He does do some self-employed work here at home so he's often in his shop or outside. I also have my little "Farm Fresh Aprons" business and last summer/fall I go REALLY busy with that . . . it was a GRAND year for me.
About 2 years ago he became my apron "tie-turner" so he turns all the ties for me . . . HUGE HELP!!!!! But then sometime in September I got even busier, he was wandering around here aimlessly and I put him to work. I now have him, as much as he is willing, cut apron "bodies" for me! He is a woodturner and knifemaker so he knows the value of accuracy in cutting and he'a a fanatic about sharp knives so I knew I could trust him with my dressmaker scissors. I think he actually enjoys it! I'm not so busy right now, which is typical and it's good because I need time to reorganize my project room, my fabric and other supplies and plan my apron production. But on evening last week when I came home from my other job he asked me "so when are we going to get started on aprons again"!!! Soon, I told him . . soon and he'll be cutting aprons for me!
