Homemade tamales from Kelly's vegetable stand with Trappey's can pinto beans. Easy - good - and a taste of fall.

Tamales! I miss tamales...

I've made some pretty good meals the last week. Made a garden pizza with a white sauce and shredded carrots and broccoli one night. Last night we grilled organic hamburgers on organic buns, with onions, tomatoes, lettuce and fresh homemade pickles. Baked beans with maple syrup, onion, and brown sugar, and a mixed garden salad (fresh picked that morning) with homemade dill dressing.

We have some special company staying the week, so I am making good home made meals, family favorites. Tonight is chicken fajitas with squash, carrots and fresh picked peppers.

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Tonight was chicken breasts stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese, onions, garlic, and fresh basil. And the gravy/sauce topped on pasta.

I usually prepare on Saturday a big lunch for Sunday after church. Didn't get to it. So, today I will set up a self serve cold cut sandwich buffet bar. Everyone can make their own and sit down for the football game.

All the meals sound so tasty and I love all the ideas we can bounce off each other. The past nine days, my daddy was visiting. I made all sorts of yummy meals, including fajitas, homemade Greek macaroni souffle that his mother made him, curry eggplant, salads and veggies from my garden, fresh corn on the cob...you name it. SO much food in the fridge and so many leftovers! DH ate the last of the leftovers for lunch today.

Tonight I made stuffed green peppers with some very fresh, yummy green peppers using an old family recipe that has raisins, ground beef, rice, tomatoes, cheese and pecans, seasoned with cumin. Oh so yummy!!!

What's on your table tonight?

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Crockpot roast of beef we raised with carrots from our garden. Baked taters on the side (nope, didn't add them to the crockpot . . not enough room!)

So today is bone chilling and wet, and very gray. I'm making a whole chicken roasted in the oven with a spice rub and caramelized onions. On the side, I am making roasted sweet potatoes, and something green...any ideas?

@Nicole, your stuffed pepper recipe from 9-10 sounds amazing and your roasted chicken for today sounds like it'll warm y'all up.
@CJ, I love how you didn't have room for the potatoes.
@Judy, what a southern spread you put out that night.

Tonight...Brazilian grilled flat-iron steak kabobs and french toast style cheese sandwiches.

Tonight is:

~Beef Pot Pie (I took some leftover beef with mushroom gravy out of the freezer and will add some veggies, I may get lazy and just serve it as a casserole with homemade biscuits on top :))

MMMMMmmm, Sharon I love a good pot pie or casserole.

Tonight's a simple supper: I've made some beef patties from ground beef, spiced up with Worcestershire sauce, garlic and salt, and am browning in a cast iron skillet with sliced onions. Serving with squash from the garden, potatoes I dug up this morning, and some corn on the cob.
DH took the ground beef out of the freezer yesterday so I needed to make it. Some times, simple just works. ;)

My sister bought me a huge roaster pan full of corn cobs so yesterday I made 2 gals of broth.

Made potato soup this morning with 1/2 gal of broth - 2 qts for her - pint for other sister - rest for me - so I will be having potato soup for breakfast & supper - that's okay - it's so good.

Crock pot chicken and sausage stew, made with chicken apple gouda sausage. Yay for crock pot freezer meals! No homeschool mom (or any mom) should be without them!

Sharon you don't have to explain gravy to me. One of my favorite suppers is a pan of gravy & whatever bread is handy. Sure can make a meal off that. Don't do it but once or twice a year.
