Made the beef paste in the mjf magazine. OMG! Delicious! Didn't have the coconut oil used butter and shortening, used bullion cube in boiling water for broth and stew beef but came out magnificent. My fussy dh liked it too!

Ooohhh. I will have to try that recipe! Good call, Lorena!
Last night, I made some veggie packs with green pepper, sweet and whit pototoes, for on the grill. We also had organic corn on the cob. The main meat was bratwurst I picked up at a smokehouse in the Adirondacks, called Oscars. Rachel Ray shops there. OMG! Was it ever yummy!

I've got some bean soup with the rest of the bratworst and kale going on the stove but we may eat that tomorrow, and tonight have a pork roast with fresh rosemary sprigs and homemade potato salad (got a craving for potato salad...must have been a post I read earlier today). What's on your table tonight?

For the kids' school, we are working on the states. We spend a week on each, which includes meals. (I am obsessed with trying new recipes! Tonight we will be having Southwest Chicken over Rice. It is basically browned chicken breasts with a mixture of black beans, for corn, tomatoes and chilies, seasoned with cumin, over rice. I'm looking forward to trying it :)

New here, but found a great recipe for chicken with almonds and cream! Dh hates veggies except for iceberg lettuce, so will adjust accordingly! Made an aWESOME DINNER THE other night when he wasn't home of roasted heirloom potatoes, herbed salmon from the Westside Market in Cleveland, and broccoli! Love love love fresh veggies! Bought tiny redskin potatoes and green beans from the Amish produce auction yesterday. I've canned the beans, and will can the potatoes tomorrow. Chicken above is dinner tonite! I love living in an area where fresh produce is so abundant! Am so thankful for the abundance! |

I eat my big meal early in the day so supper is usually cheese & crackers or a baked potato. Both with a glass of Merlot.

Lori, welcome! How'd your new recipe turn out? Sounds good....maybe post the link? Like Shannon, and CJ, tonight we all have a hankering for burgers on the grill. We will garnish them with lettuce and tomato from the garden, and a side of cucumber salad. Soooo many cukes. Love it. I may make another raspberry cobbler too.
I'm loving the fact that all week I have made dinners depending on what I pick from the garden. Makes me so happy.
What's on your table?

Like I said earlier I have my big meal around lunch time. Today I baked 2 potatoes that I sliced length wise and put a rosemary twig in-between before wrapping in foil. Also roasted whole garlic and red onion. First 20 minutes I cooked a skillet of cornbread.
Took it to my sister's and she had red peppers sautéed with onion to go on potatoes. Also black beans with cheese and green beans.

I am going to make a big green salad with beans, tomatoes, carrots, all from the garden. Maybe some boiled eggs, like a chef's salad. It's a hot day and the garden is really doing well. :)

My mouth is watering!!! All these yummy meals! In addition to the salad, last night I tried the organic kale and white bean ravioli we recently found at Cotco for a quick meal. Tossed it with a Parmesan herb sauce recipe I found on the package back, with fresh grape tomatoes. Delicious and quick! DH made dinner tonight...steak, broccoli, and sweet potatoes.

I'm back from buying groceries and am writing this as I rest. Bought a pkg. of snow peas for 99 cents so I will roast them along with other veg. Left-over pork & beans and garden tomatoes too.
