Lisa, I bet we would love that Cincinnati chili!

Made pork, apple, cranberry, sweet potato stew in the crock pot.

Hugs,

Last night, for Valentines, I made my family's favorite meatloaf, but heart shaped. For sides, it was mac and cheese, and the yummiest raw broccoli salad recipe with cranberries and maple syrup. Delish! Tonight is a MaryJanes Bake-over.

Nicole, I had to laugh. I told hubby, that if I was well, that he would have gotten meatloaf for Valentine's Day.

Today, the entire family is getting their favorite - sloppy joes.

Kristina,
LOL! The meatloaf was by request. ;)

Tonight is crock pot chicken delicious. Green salad with buttermilk dressing. Tempted to bake a Farmgirl Saturday cake since I have blueberries and buttermilk on hand. Baked cookies this weekend and am feeling fluffy, so maybe not. ;). Will walk the dog extra today and then bake it. Hee hee.

Well, I just haven't been visiting this thread much lately . . .don't know why, just haven't.

BUT, since today is National Chili Day I made my specialty using locally grown pinto beans, grown by a close friend of ours. YUMMMYY!
Sure smells good! Probably have tortillas or tortilla chips along side!

Last night I made a SIMPLE (3 ingredient) tomato sauce over linguine with shaved parm. The sauce was a 28 oz can of San Marzano tomatoes, 5 tablespoons of butter, & 1 onion, peeled & cut in half, but not diced. Simmer for 45 minutes, discard onion. It was sublime, very simple, & the exquisite taste of the San Marzanos really came through.
I had a bit leftover that I was going to have for lunch, but spilled the contents, & it was dog fodder. Wah!

We had a roast beef and veggies (leftovers) for dinner today, my husband's cousin was kind enough to bring it on Friday since I'm still recovering from surgery.

It was Fantastic! I'm going to have to ask her secret, everything was absolutely perfectly done.

Since we are still kind of sad at our house and the weather is cold and windy, thought we needed some comfort food. Made my "Magic Eixir Chicken Soup" with MaryJane's Budget Mix Biscuits.

Hubby and I had homemade Potato Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Really hit the spot. We received 8 inches of snow, so I thought this would be a good way to warm our tummies.

Hubby is going to make some of MaryJanes brownies tonight. He received a package of her special brownie mix from one of his adopted farmsisters.

I so want warm weather and fresh veggies from our garden.

Mmmmmmm mmmm! I made beef stroganoff from a 1940's cookbook (updated by me using organic ingredients) and yummy steamed broccoli.

Aren't vintage recipes grand?

Erica your dinner sounds great! Yum!

Hostessing a sleepover for DD so made the pizza tonight instead. Last night I switched it to spinach ravioli with pumpkin sage sauce.
