Hi Farmgirls!

I apologize, but could not find the original post. A couple of weeks ago, someone posted that BPA plastic lined the cans of most canned tomato products, and that the tomato acid broke the BPA down and into our foods, even with Organic tomatoes. So...I've been on a hunt again! First, I found non-organic but non-GMO tomatoes in paper cartons, imported from Italy in Shoprite. But now I found that Trader Joe's has Organic canned tomatoes, in several varieties, as well as organic sauce. They had a huge sign in the store on the shelf stating they are all BPA free. Hopes this helps, girls! I wanted to do a Happy Dance in the aisles. Refrained from doing so, since I don't want to end up on YouTube, ha ha.

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Good to know Nicole!! Thank you - we just had a Trader Joe's open in the city near us; I know it will affect the local businesses so I'm trying to only buy things there that I don't purchase or can't get from anyone local - this definitely fits the bill, BPA is everywhere it seems...

You must have been reading my mind! I've been wondering where to get tomatoes without the BPA for awhile now. I go to Trader Joe's every 2 weeks or so. This will definitely go on my shopping list!

Thank you!

I'm down to my last jar of home canned tomato sauce and down to my last 3 jars of tomatoes. I'm glad more are going BPA free.
