I bought a bottle of chocolate wine for my parents as a Christmas gift. I've never tried it before but it sure sounds good.

Did you get a bottle for yourself? I don't know if that sounds very appealing to me. I am sitting here drinking a bottle of Woodchuck hard cider from Vermont. Now that is good!

My friend owns Georgia Wines and that's the only wine I can drink. It's really good. Let us know how that chocolate wine is.

Cindy,
Where did you get your chocolate wine from?
There are several wineries on the western slope of Colorado and we've been to all of them a couple times. We found a WONDERFUL, DELIGHTFUL chocolate wine at Garfield Estates Winery in Palisade, CO. It's called "Vin Au Chocolat".
It's gone . . . I wish I had some more.
But, it's just WONDERFUL!

Tonight we had "Muscat Canelli" from Whitewater Hill Winery in Grand Junction, CO. Another wonderful dessert wine . . white, not TOO sweet!

Kris- I LOVE WoodChuck! I am drinking one right now too! I love the green. I can drink the Amber but it's not my favorite. Green is my favorite.

I have heard of Chocolate Wines but have never tried them. Please let me know if you try some!

Now I'll have to try the green. The little corner station up the raod got some in by mistake but is keeping it for some of us. I bought some from Wholefoods the other day , Fox Barrel, a blackberry pear. Did not like it. I am not much of a drinker because I like it so much and could easily become an alcoholic. So I just have a small glass of wine every few months. I had a bottle of Ga. Wine's Holiday wine from last year that I took to my knitting group Tuesday night and we drank all that between 3 of us. Cheese, crackers, wine and good friends crafting and knitting. Can't beat that.

A winery on Hood Canal in Washington (Hoodsport Winery) makes a wonderful chocolate wine. It is a wonderful after dinner wine! Enjoy!

CJ--I bought it at a local meat market/gourmet food store. I thought about getting some hard cider but the chocolate wine sounded so exotic. Maybe I'll get some cider the next time I go there.

I love Chocolate wine. It is my new favorite. Almost taste like a Baileys Irish Cream. Very creamy and smooth.
I bought 2 bottles for Christmas.

I've had the chocolate wine and it's pretty good, although I'm not a wine drinker. I would think it would be good as a dessert wine, not necessarily with dinner:)
Alee and Kris - I love cider!! Pear is my favorite....

I'm glad you posted this. I've seen chocolate wine at the store but was always afraid to spend the money and then hate it. Good to hear some reviews! Think i'll have to give 'er a go.

I saw the chocolate wine and I was thinking about buying it for a Christmas gift as well but as I have not tried it I was scared to buy it! So I stuck with what I knew would be good and also kept in mind the taste preferences of the people I was buying for BUT I was staying on the safe side too! Haha I guess next year I will have to get more daring in my gift giving. That hard cider sounds good too! I don't think I have seen that before... Guess I will have to take a closer look as I go shopping!

I've had it before and personally didn't care for it. My husband liked it though. I recommend it be served chilled. Otherwise....ugh....

I never tried chocolate, nor have seen it at our state wineries. Maybe that will become a new thing here too.
