If I don't gain 300lbs this Christmas it will be a miracle!!!!! Anyone else finding they just might be baking to many yummies for the season? But I can't help it. The kids have so much fun helping me do all the baking and it's making wonderful christmas memories for them.

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

I used to bake a lot more than I do now. Since our kids are grown and my parents are in heaven and there are less big gatherings at my house it's different. BUT, I do love to bake for giving to neighbors and friends.
I used to bake all our bread and cookies all the time and I decided that I would plan on baking for a couple days this week to get some goodies for Christmas eating, giving and put whatever in the freezer for later.

Yesterday it was:
- Pecan Shortbread, double batch
- Honey Whole Wheat (yeast) bread, 2 loaves
- Five Chip cookies, a big double batch

Today (I have more time today) it is:
- 2nd round of Pecan Shortbread, another double batch
- Oatmeal Raisin Toffee cookies, big double batch
- Oatmeal Molasses (yeast) breat, 4 loaves
- Almond Cookies, double batch
- Twelfth Night Scones, double batch

I don't have a bread machine and have never used one. Since I don't bake as much bread these days I really don't think it's a wise investment for me. BUT, I also find it to be very therapeutic to knead my bread . . I enjoy doing that!

The Honey Whole Wheat bread, right out of the oven!

Oatmeal Molasses bread, before being shaped into loaves and put to rise.

I'm having some wonderful therapeutic baking time!!!

The favorite part of homemade yeast bread to me is the end while it is still warm. I had one end, fresh, warm, from the Oatmeal Molasses bread yesterday for lunch! Heavenly!

I made 4 loaves of bread and a gazillion saffron buns this week. I hadn't made saffron buns before and now I have way too many on my hands! LOL! We made cookies yesterday with my MIL and I also made some pepparkakor cookies (Swedish ginger cookies) on Wednesday. Loads of baking going on here! The last 3 weeks I made gingerbread cookies, gingersnaps and Swedish Spritz as well, all of which are gone already.... I am wanting to get a Swedish tearing done next week and some Swedish Rye bread too. If you can't tell, I'm Swedish! :) I've been needing to make some Kringler too and my mouth is watering for some...going to go make some now. Happy baking ladies and Merry Christmas!

Oh, I hear ya! Ceejay, your bread looks yummy! I've made sugar cookie cutouts with Audrey, chocolate chip (since they are our favorite), and will make koulourakia today. Also have cake leftover I baked for my farmgirl party Saturday. Love love love to bake! Think I'll bake some bread today, too.

Gotta do my Christmas cards, as well. :)
