It would be awesome to see an entire issue devoted to repurposing. It would be great to do in the Spring when folks do spring cleaning and are tempting to throw things out and buy new things to organize what they decide to keep. Many of the things we throw away deserve a chance at a new life serving a new purpose, and I think is kind of what Spring is all about.

Maybe I am thinking too much Spring thinking since it has finally gotten cold here!

A great idea... or maybe we can start posting out repurposing ideas on here to share.

I agree an issue dealing with re-purposing would be fun. Fun projects as well as utilitarian.

Good idea Rachel! I agree. Way too much gets thrown away at my house. I would love to have ideas about how to turn things into new things, but equally as useful.
Kaaminii, I noticed that you don't live too far from me! I live in Parker, CO and I go to horse lessons in Bennet. I also have some friends who live out there! Its great to meet a farmgirl nearby! :-)

In August my daughter came home and went through the attic, getting rid of tons of stuff. I went through it all after she left and repurposed four items of hers and then turned around and gave her three of them for Christmas and she loved it! I took one of her Nancy Drew's and made it into a case for the Kindle we gave her; took an old wooden box with six drawers that was bright pink and painted it black, put old decals on it of dishes like Fiesta since she collects them and she was thrilled to get it for her kitchen and I took another box she had, painted it, stenciled "Alana's Recipes" on the top and filled it with family recipes. I told her one day she may not have electronics and this way she would still be able to cook.

So I too would love to see a issue with re-purposing in it. Here are some pics.

I really like the idea of learning more about repurposing. I think it would make a great topic right here.

Just in case you haven't seen the threads girls . .

. . .there are some great threads in "NIFTY THRIFTY" and "STITCHING and CRAFTING" where gals are doing "show and tell" on projects. . . and perhaps some in "MAKE IT EASY" You might find them interesting.
