So we were out late last night and I didn't get a chance to retrieve eggs.

Got up this a.m. before heading into work, walked into the coop to feed everybody nd remembered last night's eggs.

The ladies were still mostly roosting, so I began gathering what few eggs there were. Some roost on a perch above one of the nest boxes.

You know that a chicken poops every 7 minutes? You know this morning I chose the WRONG minute to decide to pluck an egg from beneath a supposedly sleeping chicken???

You can probably guess what happened!?

Luckily it was on top of my head and not down the back of my neck!

Wasn't late for work, but had to drive in with my hair wrapped in a towel.

Next time i'll not bother--Or maybe it's time to do a little re arrainging!

p.s. You gotta LOVE herbal soaps with tea tree/lavender or cypress. It realy helped kill the stink but will still wash my hair again tonight to be extra sure!

Certainly not the way to start a morning--and the sun wasn't even up yet!

been there, have had that done to me...but, you have not been pooped on until you choose the wrong moment to walk under a tree with a roosting great horned owl, who at that exact moment deceids to poop, talk about nasty, horribly smelling poop, worst I've ever smelled and could not get in the shower fast enough...

Reminds me of when I was a kid and my two sisters and I were on the porch with our much anticipated popsicles. My younger sister took one lick, two licks then SPLAT! some bird flying over deposits a load on her popsicle. Ew! is right! Hope your hair cleaned up and your day took on a more fragrant tone!

I've never had a chicken poo on me, but once my cockatiel pooped on my hair and I didn't know it. I went to the drug store, and some woman said to her kids:"Stay away from that woman! She has snot in her hair!" So now I always check.

And yes.........the day was actually a good one.

Being's an animal keeper, poop isn't something I shy away from--it's a part of the job....but the smell!!!!!!! So I can only imagine from an owl!?!? Then I really WOULD have cried!

Ever watch a flock of geese when they take off to fly? Don't ever stand there with your mouth a-gape either if they fly overhead!

When i still had my parakeet and cockatiel, there were poop towels everywhere. ANd yes, I too walked out of the house on occasion with a small deposit gone unnoticed on the shoulder of a shirt sometimes too!

Oh my! That hasn't happened to me yet... but, I heard it's good luck to get pooped on by a bird :)

I however did have a cow poop and her tail whacked it while it was midstream and went all over my face hair and in my ear...
My husband found that thoroughly funny.. :)
