If he is into knives, check to see if there is a master knifemaker in your area and see if he/she offers classes. One near me was willing to guide my hubby in making his own knife from a piece of steel we had laying around here and a chunk of wood from a favorite childhood tree he always intended to make into a clock. I was surprised how reasonable he was priced.
If it's not illegal, unsafe, or immoral, why not try anything once? Who knows? You may come back for a second helping!
It gets harder and harder every year for me to find something for my hubby. But this year I found THE perfect gift. He loves cowboy movies but has just about every single one. And he loves space movies. And has alot of them too. Somebody thought of the perfect movie for a guy who loves cowboys and aliens. It's a movie called Cowboys and Aliens! Perfect! So the day it came out on DVD, I got one. I am so proud of myself. And he will be so happy. Done!
I just want to throw it out there: It's so cool to read about everyone's spousal gift traditions!

He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.” ~Will Rogers
