I was so happy to get yet another present from the antique store. I thought the oil lamp was goiong to be it, but my youngest daughter gave this me old wooden bowl. Another of my favorite things. I cleaned it up real good and it sits on my counter like its always been there.

Nice! Your daughters are good shoppers! Both the bowl and oil lamp are beautiful!

Nancy,

I have a few old wooden bowls and would like to clean them up a bit. Any advice on how to get them looking nice without looking brand new?

I just washed mine with warm water and murphys oil soap, couldn't believe how dirty the rag was. then dryed it good and rubbed olive oil on the inside and out, worked it in real good with a soft rag.

I think Murphy's oil is a good choice for these items. My hubby is a woodturner and very particular about how wood is handled . . he agrees!

Thanks for the tip. I'll put Murphy's on my grocery list.
