I have two worm bins in my back yard. So they don't have legs or fur, do they count?

Worm farms definately count! My worms are my friends, their castings make my house plants grow like mad.

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

I put my worms in the house last year when it was freezing here for a week or so. They are in big plastic bins. One with the worms has holes in it for air, and sits inside a slightly bigger one that holds the drainage. But they draw flies, and I don't think I pay enogh attention to them. I need more bedding right now, andI haven't cleaned out the castings for awhile. So right now the two bins sit outside under the back stairs. It has started to rain here, and I cover them with cardboard so they don't fill up with water. But I may move them into the garage altogether. I wanted them for eating up my kitchen waste, but they seem sort of slow. I'm used to having a disposal, and now I don't have one. They are red wigglers.

Ah, yes, that's a great idea to bury them. Here it's keeping them from being too wet. But my poor dears, they need more bedding, which means I need to shred some paper.

My Momma use to have a big one in an old refrigerator outside, I hope to do the same. I hope that next year in the spring I can get it started, I really need to do some research first.

we took a old freezer. took the uts out. put it in the ground on its back. they can not crawl out. the door shuts. works great. the cutest thing ever is watching new chicks figure out how to eat worms. then they run after each other grabbing the worms. happy days sherrye
