My first business (which I am sort of rolling into my new one) was EASY for me to name. Figured it out in twenty minutes, tops.

But, now, I am reworking the business, expanding things a bit. I have three names to pick from, don't know which to go with.

1) Trixie's Mercantile (my nickname is Trixie from my days running with the Rockabilly crowd in Austin)
2) Tawny Cow Trading Post (I fell in love with a cow at the farm down the street from my house. She and her calf are a real pretty greyish, tawny color and the calf is all curly.)
3) 3535 Trading Post (3535 is my Sisterhood roster number)

My business started out as beadwork of various sorts, then I started sewing more and more and doing leatherwork, as well. Basically all of the products will be hand made. From kitchen linens to purses to wallets, jewelry, belts and lots of other things, they're all my work.

Anyone have any preferences/suggestions? What would catch your eye first? I'm a little partial to 3535 Trading Post, but I'm not sure if it would be eye catching or just confusing.

Any thoughts would be appriciated!!

I like Tawny Cow Trading Post--a lot you can do with signage, and advertising

So, two for the Tawny Cow! I'm growing pretty partial to it, too. I thought it up the other day, driving home from work, and the cow and calf were wandering back to the barn to meet the farmer... it just hit me! I will keep y'all posted!

Well, looks like I am headed for a name! I'm gonna let this go for just a bit, but I should have figured the Tawny Cow would be a bit I'm gonna see if I can get a picture of her and the calf soon. ESPECIALLY that little curly calf!

Miranda,

I would love to see some of your beadwork and leatherwork. I am just learning how to bead and love to see others work. Do you have a website or can you post pics on here? Btw, Tawny Cow is a great name.

haha! Well, it seems that I found the name MUCH MUCH sooner than I expected! I had intended on letting this go AT LEAST through the weekend, but it's still unanimous!

Tawny Cow it is!

As far as the bead and leather work, let me dig around on my laptop at home, or get some pictures when I'm off work, and I will be more than happy to share! I had a website when I was doing strictly beaded goods, but it was costing too much and generating NO sales. I'll be switching to Etsy soon.
