When I was helping my mom clean out my grandmother's kitchen, we found a very unusual set of pots and pans. We'd never seen grandma use them, which isn't surprising because she wasn't into cooking at all (ironic since she came from a big Italian restaurant and bakery owning family). We did a little research online and found some information about them.

It seems like these were some incredibly classy pots and pans back in the 1950s. They are thick like cast iron but much lighter to lift. The handles seem very weird to me. It's hard to believe that these were meant to use on the stovetop, even though I can see online that that's what the detachable slip-on plastic handles are for.

Does anybody remember these? Maybe your parents or grandparents owned some? Are they really that good? I'm just curious...we probably won't be keeping them. I've got them listed on my local craigslist right now. I'll post the link here so you can see the pictures and description.
