My family sent me e-mails regarding Thanksgiving get together. I just remembered I haven't heard from the organic farmer about my turkey order.

According to him, as of today, he never had an order for me. Even though I e-mailed him twice or more, and offered to put a deposit down on two of them - face to face, he doesn't have my order.

I am so upset. It's too late to get organic turkeys from another farm.

We even toured his farm. There's nothing I can now, but raise my own next year. It just makes me so mad. I can understand an honest mistake, but I was there (face to face) offering a deposit for my order.

Sorry you won't be getting what you wanted. Unless there is a receipt or something, it is his word against yours, toto bad he is a jerk. You are better off raising your own, poults are had to get started, but watching them grow is a treat in itself. I raise Royal Palms, I keep 3 hens and 1 Tom for breeding, and i let them set naturally, last year we had lots of turkey eggs to bake with and put 6 in the freezer. Good luck, if you decide to give it a try.

That's just wrong. I wish people were more honorable than that! I hope you're able to find some suitable birds for your family. Maybe try calling around? You never know, some people could cancel last minute with the economy... Worth a shot. Good luck! And I think you'll enjoy raising your own for next year.

That's lame. I bet he knew full well you wanted your order but thinks he can squeeze more money out of someone else for the birds at this last couple weeks.
