I went to a card making party last weekend. Had so much fun! Although, everything was already cut out for us all we had to do was assemble it. It was still fun.

I can see this could be an expensive craft. All the paper, punches, stamp pads etc. Is there a way to do this inexpensively? My girls would love it! We already have some stamps and an embosser.

Here's what I did, I've only been papercrafting for about a year.
1. Papertreyink.com 110 lb cardstock, AWESOME prices. Make sure to get lots of their stampers white. I spent SO much effort on projects that didn't work out due to cheap paper.

2. Spellbinders, on ebay, or with a craft store coupon, you get 6-8 shapes for the price of one punch.

3. Don't join the stampin' up cult. I feel like it would totally cramp my creativity. I can find you an almost exact stamp set from another source, for just about every set they sell. I was so sad at their last catalog. If you are a paint by numbers type, then it will be the thing for you.

4. Tombow glue does not warp paper, wonder tape, or scor-tape for 3d objects. Don't deny yourself glossy accents. You'll say, I don't need that. Yeas you do!.

5. My greatest resource is you tube. So many ladies have videos to show you how without buying everything Tim Holtz or stampin up.
6. Use your coupons. My Sizzix machine was $50 because I used the Black Friday coupon at Michael's

Stamp pads-
Versamark watermark pad, Tsukineko Stazon Black, clear embossing powder, Tim Holtz Black soot.

I use these every time I create.

YOU DO NOT NEED EVERY COLOR OF INK TO MATCH YOUR PAPER. THIS A COMMON STAMPIN' UP MYTH.

Versamark makes it look tone on tone. It makes your stamp appear a shade darker.

Deb,
I've been papercrafting cards for many years . . . I hardly ever use pre-cut, pre-made, etc. items. I am a repurposer, upcycler and I use ANYTHING I can get my hands on. The most important thing for me is good cardstock and good adhesive. Once you get going on it you might be surprised at how you get an "eye" for what can be used.
Go for it!

I love that I can look up my stamp sets to see what other people do with them.
You will never run out of ideas looking in the resource section.

Also, try making your own patterned paper by repeating a stamping pattern.

Last night I bought his Tattered Florals die. I have been telling myself I can do without it for the past year! I have grunge paper. It's really weird, like paper leather.

I used wondertape/stickystrip instead if glue because I didn't want to wait.

I have yet to "play" with the grunge paper.. I have it, just slightly intimidated by it!
A.C. Moore had a sale on his sissix folders 2 for $10! Christmas came early for me this week!

Even though I made the rose, the grunge paper is still intimidating. Today I'm going to emboss, distress, and basically abuse it an all the ways I can think of. I'll get back to you.

GLITTERMIST: Is so expensive, it's just wrong!

i made my own with pearly acrylic paint, alcohol, and water. I think you can also use water, alcohol ink, and pearly powder.

Is my favorite online source for Pink Paislee and Graphic 45.

They are having an aweome sale. I saved 40% on everything..and it's current, and not damaged. The last feedback I left said: Fastest shipping ever.
