In this new craft room we created, I decoupaged an entire wall with 1960s advertisements. I loved it so much, now I'm Mod-Podging everything! I just did my sewing cabinet yesterday. It was that hideous 1970s/1980s speckled wood finish, so I sanded it all down, painted it Dover white, and roughed all the edges with sandpaper. Then I sandpapered the knobs and hinges, and THEN I took some of my Mamaw's vintage chicken and egg fabric, cut it out to match the cabinet door panels and decoupaged the fabric right onto the sewing cabinet. I thought it was a great way to pay tribute to my grandmother, who is no longer on this earth. I will think of her every time I sew!

So, I'm totally sold on decoupage now....

We decoupaged a wall once with magazine clippings that were all black and white photos. It took a long time to complete but it looked great when we were finished. And it stayed on the wall for many years.

Hi Amanda! I love 'podging! I've mostly done it with jar labels and small projects like that, but WOW! An entire wall sounds like so much fun! BTW, I found a DIY recipe for making your own mod podge! It works just fine for me, so I saw your post and wanted to share. Try it on a smaller project first, I don't know how it would work on a bigger one, since I've never tried it. Saving a few nickles never hurts

I hope that you are having a lovely Sunday!

Thanks, Annika! I'll look into that :0) I really enjoy Mod-Podging. It's relaxing to me...I think that the smell takes me back to vacation bible school, lol!

The headliner in my van is sagging and I thought about removing it and decoupaging maps to the ceiling, wonder if the heat buildup would affect mod podge.

Wow! A entire wall? I'd love to see pictures of it. Sounds fun. We use modge podge all the time here. We make flower vases with recycled glass jars and scrap fabric/tissue paper/photos/etc. We also use it to cover collages on the fronts of our journals, to make Christmas ornaments by covering recycled jar lids, and much more.
