Hope this isn't too weird--I thought it was pretty funny, so I'm sharing. My oldest brother is in his mid 40s, my husband and brother-in-law in their late 20s, and all eyes popped at the sight of the hot lady in boots by the fence on the cover of the latest MJF mag! Which only bolsters my argument to my dh about letting me farm as an occupation once the kids are all school-age. Here's how that went:
Dh: Wow. Me: Yeah, I know! You know she's in her 60s, right? Dh: Doesn't really matter when you look like that. Me: That's her real hair, too! See hon, if you let me farm full time as a job, I'll look like that when I'm in my 60s. (was referring to the bod, not the hair, in that statement) Dh: If you'll look like that in your 60s, you go for it.
So I'm sending out an official thanks to MaryJane for being a hottie, and in such helping me inch toward a milk goat, laying hens, and a girl-friendly chainsaw of my very own, all before retirement age!

OMGosh, I thought I read somewhere that she was! My sincere apologies about that! Well, no matter her age, my point was that she's gorgeous and youthful and I'm sure it's got a lot to do with NOT sitting in an office all her career life, snacking on vending machine food between phone calls. Seeing such a fantastic example of how lifestyle affects a person's appearance made an impression on my dh that could aid in saving me from a desk job when it's time for me to seek employment (I'm exclusively homemaking at the moment) after this season of our lives--having babies everywhere--has passed.
I also sent Radical Homemakers with him on his business trip this week. We'll be farming in no time! :D
