my partner-debbie horn -Buzznbee--and i have extended our swap deadline..she's having heart surgery tomorrow--(hint hint,sisters, a card opportunity!)and has not been allowed out except to hospital over the weekend-ouch! and my life and school have gotten in my way..so we mutually agreed to extend our swap and enjoy the holiday!!!!

I realize this may sound like a silly question, but are we to send the trees already decorated and if so, how is everyone shipping them to make sure the ornaments stay on? OR are we sending everything in the bag, i.e. ornaments, decorations etc. and then the person receiving it will decorate their tree with what they were sent?
Just wondering what to do??

Not silly at all Cynthia. I think we were supposed to send the ornaments separately. The tree I decided to send required that I attach the ornaments to get the effect that I intended. So the one I sent is all decorated, star on and tree skirt attached. It was just under 7 or 8 inches so it fit nicely in a little box with packing peanuts and bubble wrap...in a gift bag. I think I didn't follow the guidelines exactly...but I'm happy with it :)

Thanks Christy for giving me some input. I'm just afraid that if I put the decorations on they may fall off or get broken in transport:/
Looked at your blog and LOVE what you did making your own vanilla!! I've read some other posts about making it and I think I'm gonna give it a try. Should have done it way back a when & then I could have used them for gifts like you

Maddie, Your box arrived today and you made my day! You are a wonderful swap partner and I appreciate the thought and care you put into this swap. A big thank you!
Farmgirl Sisters, I have to brag about Maddie....the outside of her box was covered in Christmas wrap and was so colorful and cheerful. Inside was a beautiful little decorated tree and several wrapped goodies to put under the tree (I haven't opened them yet; I like to have some surprises to look forward to). The tree was in a gorgeous hand-made bag that Maddie sewed from vintage bark cloth. Maddie also included a couple of other beautiful gift items. It was all so beautiful and I was so excited that my husband came over to see what all the fuss was about. I feel so pampered.

Hi Cynthia, Your tree was mailed out this week...I chose to put the ornaments on and I lightly glued the hangers on to insure they did not come off. It is entirely up to the person as to how they send it...I thot I wanted you to pull out your tree and see it already decorated. Just a personal preference!! Of course the branches may need to be fluffed a bit..Let me know how it goes..Smiles, Beth

Hi Beth, I just received a wonderful card and letter from you and it sounds as if my Christmas in a bag will be so wonderful but unfortunately the letter and card beat the tree here. Isn't that the way things always turn out? LOL I so hope you'll enjoy my mediocre offerings to you. I think you should have received it per confirmation notice 2 days ago? Oh My goodness, wow! Karla I received the BIG box today full of Christmas goodies. A lovely lighted white tree with silver tree skirt. A reindeer bag full that held a Santa apron that is TOOOO cute, peppermint candy style hot mitt and hot pad. Another reindeer bag full of candy and large suckers/candy canes, a gift of Vanilla Bean lotion and a Woodwick Noel candle that smells heavenly. A recipe holder with tabs, stickers, plastic holders, recipe cards and everything you could possibly image to make a wonderful recipe book. My gosh, I just could not believe how great this Christmas in a Bag was. You really out did yourself "Santa" Karla! THANK YOU!!! You really made my day and my year as I have not had very good experiences with swaps and I told myself this would be the last.....BUT now I have more faith thanks to you.

Beth I just had Santa Claus visit my house and he left me a wonderful package of the cutest tree and the sweetest gifts ever! Thank you ever so much! I just love how you decorated the tree. It's so darned cute! The bag you made and all the wonderful gifts, oh my gosh I feel blessed! What a wonderful day this has been :) I probably wasn't supposed to open the gifts yet but I ummmm am sort of like a little kid and can't keep my fingers off of things unless it's padlocked LOL. You made my day! I also got some beautiful cards from a handmade Christmas card swap I was in so I took a pic of all my goodies lined up together. Thank you so much for a wonderful swap!
