Looking for any PA or Lehigh Valley Farm girls, In desperate need of someone to take a rooster and a hen from my flock, seems the old guy behind me is trying to sell his house, so instead of coming to me and saying something to me about the rooster, he called the township, requirements are only 4 chickens, I knew that, but could only buy 6 at a minimum at tractor supply, so I've been looking for someone to take the rooster (who was suppose to be a hen) for a while now before I have to make the decision to kill him, but now that he has contacted our township I have to comply and only can have 4, anyone in my area willing to take these two on?

Melissa, Hello! I just became a member of the farmgirl connection and I am looking for some other women or girls to hook up with. I just posted today about trying to find some people near Allentown. However, I cannot help you with you rooster and hen problem. Are you in a group or run a group?

Thanks,
Anne

I am in Wescosville, lower macungie, I did find a home for all the chickens as my township is very stingy in their requirements, I'm just shy of an acre and they became very hard to deal with

That's Great! Well we have 2 of us. I got a message from a women in NJ,
I will write her and see where she is. What else do you think we could do to get some interest. I did read that some of the groups go to craft shows and flea markets and just sit there with some information on Mary Janes farm and hopefully get some interest there. What do you think?

I would think we could get more interest by creating or Facebooking our friends who have like interests and seeing where we end up, or creating our own FB page for people in our area?

Actually I was going to suggest that in my last post to you, however I am not on facebook, and my friends think I am nuts to have moved up here. I lived about 1-l/2 hrs from here, then when the kids were grown, we made the move. We are only on a little over 2 acres, and our county will not even let me have chickens. I am working on that though.

So yes, I think facebook would be a great idea, you would have to do all of the posting. I would help you in any way you needed me to.

Melissa, I e-mail a group from Phillipsburg, NJ and also a group from Kempton, Pa they both look about 30 miles from us. I am waiting for an answer to see if they would accept 2 new girls. I will let you know when I get anything.
