Hi!

When I was in the 7th grade I checked out a book from the library. Can't remember its name; but it was set in WWII Germany or near by and it was about orphans who found a railroad car or caboose in the woods and made into a home. Anybody have any idees? thnx

Sounds a bit like the Boxcar Kids. Not sure if it was WWII though?!? Graet books!

I think it is boxcar kids but it is not set in WWII era. They are mystery type books and my students love them.

That definitely sounds like the Box Car kids to me too. Loved that book as a 2nd grader but the funny thing was when I had kids of my own and they were young I got it at the library to read to them and was so disappointed. It played much better in my memory.
