The tags went out this morning. Shouldn't be too long before they arrived. From past swaps I've had 2 items lost in the mail, never to be found. If you don't get your package let me know.
OK- I made some sort of error. I ended up with an extra tag. So if you get yours and you have 5 tags instead of 6 or you have 2 of the same tag, let me know. I will wait awhile before returning it to the artist. And maybe she sent extra and I didn't realize at the time. I did go back and check on them but couldn't find where I made a mistake.
Hope you enjoy the tag books, I like them better than ATCs even and I hope you enjoyed the creating and the book you receive. Happy swapping.

Last month I joined a tag book swap at Karla's Cottage and it was fun.
I like Fall so seemed a good topic for a tag swap. I have never hosted a swap  so will pattern it after Karla's. Tags can be purchased at the craft store and are 10 for $2. The size is 2 5/8"x5 1/4".
Here's what you need to do:
1. Make 5 or 6 fall themed tags-can use leaves, fall colors, pumpkins etc. If using pumpkins-make them friendly-this is not a halloween swap. No ghosts etc. Not all 5 tags need to be identical. Sign the back of your tags with your name, MJF name, your blog or email etc. The back of the tag can be decorated or finished off with a nice piece of paper, page from a book, music sheet etc.
2. Tags can be painted, collage, fabric, words-your choice. Ribbons, fibers at top of tag thru the hole is optional.
3. Sign ups will end on Sept 10
4. Tags will need to be at my house by Oct 10. I will email my address to you when I put you on the list.
Include in your package:
5 tags, or if you would be so kind as to make 6 so I could have one for my book I'd love it but not a requirement.
a piece of paper with your name and address-for returning to you
$4 return mailing
I will be checking often so as to answer questions and add people to the list. You can also go to Kim's blog www.tabithalenox.blogspot.com to see the tags she made for the swap. Her work is beautiful and she is a member of MJF.

Peggy-the tags are like bookmarks but have a hole at the top for hanging. Think gift tag. Then they are decorated like the ATCs or cards or scrapbook pages. With paper, cutout, images, colors, lace, numbers,letter etc. I do have a camera but have never posted photos, I will work on that and see what I can do. I am challenged when it comes to the computer stuff. Until then I hope you will consider joining the swap-you will not be disappointed.

This is the tag book I received from the bird song swap. We are doing AUTUMN/FALL. you can use a wide variety of materials and styles. Think colors, images most anything goes.

I would love to join, however, I am a bit confused as to how many to make. Would each swapper not make one for each lady who joined? Say 15 signed up, then you make 15 tags? That way each person got a tag from everyone? Or do you mean that it will be broken down into groups of five swappers per group. Just making sure I understand.
Here is the tag base I use.

This is is actually made of material.
Here is the one we made. First time at sewing on paper. Not to bad...
I will wait to sign up until I understand completely what we are doing.

No you make 5 and get 5 back + 1 I will include. Is your tag the size I requested for the guidlines? I'd rather have them close to the same size, it comes together nicer. Hope you will decide to join.

Penny you can cut your own tags out of most anything. Cereal boxes, fabric, cardboard etc. If you decide to use the index cards, I would trim 1/2" off one side so they look more like a tag. I will put you on the list. Glad to have you.

sounds absolutely darling--but if you only make 5 and there are more than 10 in the swap you don't get one from everybody????just wondering!
wish that i had the talent cuz i would LOVE to be part of this--maybe next time! don't really think i can pull it off this time and fall is my fave!

This is going to be great fun! I think I may have to make six different tags, I can't seem to settle on one design and there are sooooo many pretty papers to use! :)
