Hello fellow Farmgirls! My name really is Lindalu and I am a soapmaker here in Canada. My Grandmother and her mother were homesteaders in Southern Saskatchewan who made sure I knew how to milk a cow, make butter, skim cream, collects eggs, do something horrible to a chicken (I only had to do that once), pluck a chicken and clean it for food. I was taught young how to bake and preserve. Although they did not teach me how to make soap, they told me how it was done, what a terrible amount of work! I was also taught to sew, knit and crochet so when I saw this over at Mountain Rose Herbs I knew I needed to join in and get to know everyone.

I still love to bake, make jams and jellies from scratch. I prefer to use all my handmade soaps, lotions, creams, etc., etc. I also sell it on weekends as well as at festivals during the summer.

I look forward to getting to know more women who like to do for themselves.

Cheers

Welcome Lindalu!! I'm also a BC girl transplanted into the states and I'm related to a vast majority, or so it seems, of Saskatchewan (Mennonite). Glad to see another of my Canadian sisters on here. :)

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

Debra, there are so many different types of Mennonite it's hard to say if they're the same or not. My heritage is Mennonite, my faith is Christianity.
