Mary Jane, that is good to know. Although I have dried up my goats for a time ( already missing that milk!) there is always something important to record. So if you use yours for your cows then I might have just found my "planner/journal". It is ordered so I am eagerly waiting...end of January or not. There is no better time to get a planner/journal started than right now where we are at. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Tammy you are right. I am looking forward to keeping information on my hens in my planner and it really doesn't matter when it gets started as long as it gets done.

Just ordered my planner. Can't wait! I can also use it for my daily gratitude entry, and temperature quilt since I can't remember to use a journal every day. I do look at a calendar every day.

I'm pretty sure we can do that. It's on my to-do list for next year.

I love this idea, too! And include the moon phases, and remind us to spend some time each day in care for all aspects of our wellness.

I received my planner today, yay! I didn't realized that it wasn't dated. I am going to mark off some time to start filling it in.
Love the graphics and little encouraging notes.
Thanks MaryJane!

Some of the things I use my planner for:

To remind me to clean electric teakettle the first of each month.

To record when Chicken coop heat lamp is on so I can keep up with life of the bulb.

To remind me to start new Temperature Quilt square on Fridays.

A record of what I am drying.

Plant/seed list for this year's garden is tucked into back cover pocket. The list keeps growing.

Temperature Quilt temperatures & color guide tucked into front cover pocket.

My planner was waiting for me at home last night. I keep so many things electronically, but there is just something so satisfying and soothing about having a book in hand with real paper pages and the feeling of putting pen to page. The planner is very substantial, but not too big to handle. I have already started to put dates in and am looking forward to using it in the months ahead.

I received my planner about a week ago and love it, thank you.

Mary Jane, I also wanted to thank you and everyone at the farm for the free and fast shipping for Sisterhood Sisters. I ordered my calendar, some fabric and Farmgirl towels and 2 days later they all arrived. I appreciate so much the free shipping and how pretty everything is packed. Thank each and everyone I appreciate each of you!

Hugs,
Deb

Debbie - I agree with you about the joys of shopping and shipping at MJF! I am always so surprised when I get home and find a package -- "I just ordered that!" Everything I have ordered has been above top-notch, as well. My planner is filling up. I am not averse to using my electronics -- they are so handy -- but there's something sooooo satisfying about watching ink flow onto paper.

Love, Love this planner! I have wanted to set up an address system where the FarmGirls I am in touch with most ofter (Swap/barter/henhouse/others) are listed by State they live in. I am using the A-Z pages. Each letter is a state. Some states need more than one page. This will help me when I travel...and, I am amazed at how many TX FarmGirls there are!

I used planners on my job for years. I love this one just because MaryJanesFarm is a big part of my life now! Go Me!

Judith -- that is a great idea! I have been in a few swaps and have just been putting address cards in my regular file, but this is much much better!

I'm using my MJF Planner to help me simplify my life. I don't list more than I feel reasonably sure I will be able to finish that day or at least give it a good start. I'm happier checking off a few things at the end of the day than looking at a long list with no checks.

I am using the back free pages to make notes in when I read a book or magazine and find an idea that I want to follow-up with. This way I don't forget where I read the idea or what other thoughts it generated. It is working out well for me and I love having the freedom to have a calendar and note taking pages all in one spot.

As I've been using our planner, I'm not sure I like the weekly pages that start with a Monday and then minimizes the two spaces for Saturday and Sunday. Those are the days that I need to write on the most! And a couple of times I've looked at it wrong thinking Monday was Sunday. This design is more for a M-F work-week emphasis. What are you finding? Should I try to change that next year? If so, how? Feedback, please!
