Well I need some input on making shampoo. I used the basic recipe, soap flakes, water and 2 different oils for scent. Well I think it may have cleaned my hair ok, but it felt horrible, wet and dry. I had to use twice as much store bought conditioner to get it to feel right. Does anybody have any ideas on this.

Hello!
I've been making my own handcrafted soap for six years now and I also make my own shampoo bars with rosemary and mint. I just started making own rosemary hair rinse as well. I love it. My hair feels very clean and manageable...Hmmmm, what kind of soap "flakes" did you use?

Hi. It mentioned that Castile soap flakes was a good choice, well I can't find flakes, so I got the Castile bars and grated them myself. Would the flakes be different I wonder? How do you make yours, maybe I will try that. Hey thanks for the reply. Cudos on making your own soaps, thats great

I've just started making mine. I use liquid castile soap, goats milk, water, and some rosemary or other herb and some essential oils. It feels really nice. Now I want to figure out how to make a conditioner. I've got natural curl that just really needs a little assistance that only conditioner seems to accomplish.
