I have witnessed another miracle. Right here on my farm. I am still amazed. It's just one more way that God lets me know He is still here and still loves me and is concerned with my "little things". He is awesome! I know that He does things for me every day, but I never seem to get it. But this one is amazing.
Yesterday I decided to do some animal rearranging. I wanted the does and kids to be in the back so I could put Zarah in a stall. And I was going to move the sheep up front where I always wanted them to be. So I had this big plan all worked out the way it was going to happen. Well, sheep have their own plans and this one was not going to work for them.
So I had all the goats where I wanted them and the chickens were put up for the night so they wouldn't be in the way. I had the front gate wide open and my car as a barricade. I was going to get Stella on the leash and just slowly walk the sheep to the gate and across the yard and they would go right through the gate into the wide open pasture. Like I said, sheep have their own plans. They were NOT going through that little gate. No way. They ran all over the place. And me and Stella were just standing there watching them. So I decided to quit and try in the morning. I did leave the gate open so they could go into the holding area though.
So this morning I looked out there and could not believe what I saw. The sheep were all there in the holding area by the gate! Taht's when I wished I could be 2 people so I could go shut the other gate so they wouldn't run back out to the back again. They stayed right there wile I went and got a bottle for Earl. I even opened that gate so they'd go out in the yard. Well, they did. Right to the fron t gate right next to the gate I wanted them to go through to the pasture. So I got the bottles and Earl followed me right out to the pasture and the ewes went right with him! Just as easy as that! I went and shut the gate and there they all were. In the pasture! It was like God just led them into the place I wanted them to be. I am still amazed. I never even said a word.
AND to top it all off, they were all standing by the fence in the sun and I walked over to them and PET them ALL! Garcie stood there for a few minutes and let me pet her back! I have only ever been able to touch their noses. EVER! And they let me pet them. That's when I thought I must have died and was in heaven. It was all jsut a little too perfect. It's never been this way before here.
So I have witnessed a miracle here at Outback Farm in Kensington, Ga. I am a happy farmgirl right now. God is good! And so are sheep.

Kris,
Thanks for the story. You just made my day! I would love to have some goats. I'm working on getting some chickens.

Kris, isn't that amazing? It's like God tells the animals to give you a break! I hope they continue to be well behaved for you!!!

Well, I wish you all had been here last night and this morning. I know there is a lesson in here somewhere. Actually, this morning, while reading my devotions, there was a lesson for me. But I didn't read it til AFTER the fiasco.
Last night Stella was barking at something. And she does not usually bark. So I got up to go check on her. And what do you suppose I saw? A ewe! Up by the milkroom door. So I looked for the others and saw them still in the pasture. The gate was wide open. But they didn't stay in the pasture for long. Uhuh. They came right up here with their little friend. So there they all were, back where we started. I chased them around the yard awhile til that got old and we were all panting. I went ahead and put them back in the little holding area for the night. Poor things were exhausted. And I went inside to think about this problem. After such a great day, why? I was just feeling so defeated.
So this morning I thought I'd just do the same thing I did yesterday morning. It worked then didn't it? But no. They had to stop at the apple trees for while and then the impatiens for dessert. So I was kind of mad by then and saying things I shouldn't. I went in and got the big guns. Stella. I really didn't care at this point what happened, I just wanted some dang apples! A few days ago Chuck the bull calf had gottne out and went straight for the apple trees too.
So I got Stella and Bubba after them and they went back into the pasture. Just like that. What happened was I did not get that most important piece of fence equipment back into the most important hole that's there for this very important reason. TO KEEP THE GATE SHUT, ya big dummy!!SO before they went in I had to get a hammer and bamg it back in place so the rod would go back in the hole to keep the gate shut. Ya live and learn, right?
And I was gone all day today and they were all still in the pasture!
So I think my lesson is that no matter what comes my way, I can still sing and be happy. I don't have to grumble and complain and say stupid things. It all works out anyway, no matter what I say or do. In the end, everyone is where they should be and it's all ok. So why do I worry about it? Why do I make things out to be worse than they ever are? One day I will learn.

Kris: Nice posting. I'm happy to hear you believe in miracles. The more one believes in miracles, the more miracles one will have. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. It works for me. I guess your animals just wanted to give you a break. Marly
