Hi gals. I made a new blog post (http://silvermoonfarm.blogspot.com/2011/08/how-to-survive-fresh-air-and-open.html) directed to the city slickers who have an itch to join the country life... hopefully it'll save some of them and the farm girls will get a laugh out of it. I may do something of a series on this topic :)

This is great, it makes sense and is also very funny. I am probably going to email the link to a few friends that think our suburb is too far from the city and can't deal with the horses down the street.

Dusky, I laughed all the way through your blog post. Too funny! And so very true. After we moved to New Mexico several years ago, we purchased a gelded male donkey for stock protection. I got a call one day from a new neighbor who had moved in after we did, and this is what she said, "Can't you make that Donkey stop humping your horses? I find it very disturbing to look at." Needless to say, I tried as sweetly as I could to tell her that she had moved to the country, and there were farm animals all around her. And perhaps, if it bothered her so much, she should not watch our horses and donkeys. Hilarity abounds!
