I didn't know where to post this.
A little perturbed at Etsy. Buyer pays with e-check, which doesn't clear until 2nd attempt. Package shipped out after e-check clears, only to have package returned due to incorrect shipping address in PP. Package sent a 2nd time after receiving correct address-buyer leaves a neutral-saying that she wasn't informed-Etsy will not remove feedback. I kept buyer informed every step of the way, from when her e-check payment failed, when it finally cleared, when item was shipped, when item was returned because of wrong address that buyer never changed, and when item was re-shipped.-buyer messed up. What good is the message system when people don't read it? Just venting here.
Have any of you had this problem? I think that Etsy should have a way for sellers to respond to feedback.

You can leave feedback for the buyer that's neutral or negative. Check in your Feedback section and you should be able to leave feedback for the customer that you spoke of above. I always wait to leave feedback for customers until after they've left it for my shop. Perhaps also only accepting PayPal - I haven't had an issue with PP, I don't care to deal with checks or money orders or e-checks.

Hi, PP stands for PayPal. I know about the feedback. I should have waited to leave her feedback. I am going to change to having only instant payment through PayPal.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Yes, PP stands for PayPal. I also have in my "terms" that they need to make sure their PP shipping address is correct or to specify an alternative shipping address. You would think that people would check that kind of thing because they're paying for stuff, but not so.

Good idea about checking that the information is correct. Thanks for everything.

| I once purchased something on Etsy that was never sent...finally I had to have Etsy deal with the person, who finally refunded my money months later. When I left honest feedback, this person left a horrible, untruthful, rude feedback on mine, and when I explained this to Etsy, they would not remove it. Not fair! |

All- I only sell on ebay and they have a very good policy that covers you when a buyer does not pay for an item. When you respond to a buyer using the ebay contact seller method ebay can track the dates of your correspondence. Secondly, if you only use PayPal, it eliminates all that check stuff that can get you into trouble so I highly recommend paypal only transactions. On three separate occasions I had someone default on an auction and ebay refunded all of my money and their fees with no questions. Perhaps you could try ebay to sell your wares and see how you like it?

Michelle, I agree 100 percent. I like selling on Etsy, but they need a better support system similar to eBay. I was fortunate. I sent a message to the buyer, stating the facts and by kissing and make up, my feedback will changed to a positive. She received her package, and was very happy. I guess that she had a memory lapse as to what happened, and that the last message reminded her that I bent over backwards to help her out. I also sell on eBay and they have removed negative feedback, although something that they don't usually do. They take on a case by case basis.
I had a problem today, so I called PayPal. They were so helpful. It is so nice to talk to a human. Some businesses don't have that.
BTW, the feedback is now positive.

used to sell alot on ebay but sells really died down as their fees continued to go up. it was no longer feasible for me to do. I still like etsy and so far so good!
