What are the best herbs to help in killing cancer? My husband has lower esophagus/upper stomach cancer. He is undergoing all the "traditional" tretments of chemo and radiation but an herbalist who writes for the same state-wide agricultural magazine I write for said he needed to be taking E-Tea and Paudearco as well. Any suggestions? Has anyone in your family tried these?

I would get the books - "A cure for all cancers" and "A cure for all advanced cancers" - I have heard of people having good results with using two books. I already sent my copies to my dad a few years ago or I'd send them to you.

I also looked things up in one of my herb books....

There was a whole chapter in "Prescription for Herbal Healing" on cancer and which herbs to take based on which type of chemo, medications and radiation a person was going through.

In the stomach cancer section it says... Garlic, Lentinan (have to get from a health care provider) and Maitake-D. Also a traditional chinese herbal formula called "Coptis Decoction to Relieve Toxicity."

Eat a diet high in fruits, veges, rice, pasta and beans with limited meats.
Limited smoked, BBQ, pickled or salt cured foods.
Avoid alcohol and tobacco
Shiitake can be used to help if you cannot tolerate garlic.

That's just with a few minutes of reading. So I would bet there are lots of things you can find out about.

Paw Paw is supposed to be excellent for any kind of cancer. Also look closely at his diet and overall lifestyle to make any necessary changes there.

red clover is supposed to be good for all types of cancers as are cleavers. Susun Weed says that you have to eat high protein, as cancer will rob your body of protein if you don't eat enough. her website is a good source of herbal wisdom.

Hey I wanted to tell you what I am learning...
recently read that banana is actually an HERB...
so my comment is fruit related...on the web theres information about the research being done on PAPAYA...they are very much promising that papaya has the power to dissolve cancer cells...i think it says to destroy them..
if you can get papaya where you live i am sure it would give your husband some relief bc its a fruit that is also esp good for the digestion...a special enzyme...very mild flavor, soft and of the most delicate texture...would help him I am sure
Good luck and Best wishes

Look up Dr. Furhman

He has written several books and is also a huge proponent for a whole foods diet.

He has a great soup that uses nothing but raw veggies...caled aptly : anti cancer soup.

So please, it can't hurt.

I make the soup several times a year in bulk and freeze it in batches. As as extra boost, I include a bulb of baked garlic too...great if you happen to love garlic!

Tumeric is supposed to help get rid of tumors/cancer. However, I don't know if it would irritate your husband's gastric system. I suggest you do an internet search on turmeric. Garlic is good, too. Also, if you haven't already done so, I suggest you do a search for "herbs that fight cancer." God bless you and your husband. I pray that he receives healing.

Check out Limu. On PubMed you can also look up cancer and herbs (or pick an herb you want to research) and it will pull up research articles

Black Salve, which is made from a combination of herbs including Blood Root can be very helpful. It actually draws tumors out. You can find videos on Youtube of people using it and their results.

Ginger has some cancer-fighting properties to it too, as well as keeping down inflammation.

One thing big that I've learned from studying about Sophie's cancer is that cancer cells are junk food junkies...don't feed them carbs and no sugar.

I am sorry to hear about your husband, and I wish you both strength and love on the journey ahead of you.

I would advise caution with combining herbal therapies with certain conventional treatments. Botanical medicines can potentially change the effectiveness of the some conventional treatments...making it more toxic, and sometimes rendering it less effective. This is a situation where working with a trained professional is well advised, while also making sure that you have an open and honest discussion with your oncologist about the use of botanical medicines. Most oncologists have not had extensive training in botanical medicine, so my best recommendation would be to seek out a licensed naturopathic physician with a specialty in oncology. Their board exams require that they know how to safely combine botanical medicine with conventional therapy. A great website resource is www.oncanp.org, where you can look for members who have the "FABNO" credential.

Wishing you well...
