MY new favorite: radishes can be sliced thinly and fried up like potatoes. My husband ate them once and thought they were fried baby red potatoes. Little did he know... :)

I like to make mashed potatoes, with turnips mashed in. Also, I made a really, really, really yummy dutch oven full of roasted root vegetables, that had some turnips in it. I cut up beets, turnips and something else- forgot what- tossed with olive oil, garlic, salt and fennel. Roasted in the oven maybe at 425 with the lid on for 35 minutes. It was really good- could be seasoned differently, of course. We used to go crazy for a slaw at one of the local Mexican restaurants in our old town. It was in the salsa bar as a garnish, but I'm afraid we ate it as salad- It was made of shredded or thinnly sliced and chopped radishes and cabbage, with cilantro, lime juice, salt, and I don't know what all. What I remember is that it was SOOOO good! Mary LD
